Christmas Poems For Kids

Kids are inseparable parts of the festival of Christmas. The little ones look forward to celebrating Christmas with great anticipation. During the Christmas season, life seems to be exactly the way it is in fairy tales for the kids. They are showered with Santa's Christmas gifts and goodies, get to eat yummy chocolates and delicious Christmas cakes, enter the fantasy world through books and get involved in multiple exciting events and activities. However, it is equally important to make the kids aware of the customs and traditions that are related to Christmas. And the best way to get the children know more about Christmas is through poems. Christmas poems for kids are written in very simple manner that can be easily grasped by the children. Here is a list of Christmas poems for children. The Christmas child- By George Macdonald
Little one, who straight hast come
Down the heavenly stair,
Tell us all about your home,
And the father there.'

'He is such a one as I
Like as like can be.
Do his will, and, by and by,
Home and him you'll see.'

'MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB'- By M. Nightingale
THE Blessed Mary had a lamb,
It too was white as snow,
Far whiter than I ever am--
Always and always so.

She found it lying in the stall
Wherefrom the oxen fed,
With hay for bedding, hay for shawl,
And hay beneath its head.

She followed near it every day
In all the paths it trod,
She knew her lamb could never stray
(It was the Lamb of God).

And when the cloud of angels came
And hid It from her sight,
Its heart was near her all the same
Because her own was white.

So when she slept white lilies screened
Her sleep from all alarms,
Till from His Throne her white lamb leaned
And waked her in His Arms.

Baby's First Christmas By Alice E. Chase
You have to hold him up to see
The angel on the Christmas tree.
And even though he's still too small
To know the meaning of it all
You watch his eyes reflect the glow
Of colored lights that come and go
And feel him quiver with delight
At every new and wondrous sight.
There's Santa with his jolly face
Beaming from the fireplace.
And from the stocking hanging there
Peeks a cuddly teddy bear.
Bright ornaments and candy canes --
Musical toy and wooden trains --
There's just no end to the delights
Spread out for him this night of nights!
He points and grins from ear to ear
And then he yawns - his bedtime's near!
Dad gives him a kiss and you tuck him away
To rest up for the fun of his first Christmas Day!
