Preparations for Christmas start several weeks
prior to the festival, which makes the season very hectic. People
want their houses to be clean and perfectly decorated, often lacking
the time for the same. When it comes to windows, many people either
don't bother decorating them or are in the dark about the
appropriate ways of doing the same. However, windows form an
important part of the house and decorating them serves as an
indication to others that you have started the preparation for
Christmas. In this article, we have given some ideas to help you in
planning Christmas window decorations.
- Curtains form a very essential part of windows décor,
be it on Christmas or otherwise. They dress-up the windows and
make them look elegant and complete. A variety of ideas can be
figured out for decorating the windows, using curtains. For
instance, you can hang silver bells from the curtains. Just loop
a ribbon over the curtain rod, tie one end of the ribbon through
the top of the bell and make a bow.
- If bells don't fit into your Christmas décor, use
ornaments such as paper snowflakes, to adorn the window curtain.
- Tie back curtains are perfect to dress-up your windows. Use
cherry tiebacks, exhibiting the holiday spirit.
- Berries, holly, ivy, and pinecones are perfect to create the
holiday effect. These festive swags should be placed on the top
of the window, along the curtain rod.
- Apart from curtains and festive swags, you can also use fake
snow to adorn your windows. Spray canned snow along the top and
bottom of the windowpane. To give a sparkly final addition, add
a string of white Christmas lights behind and underneath the
snow.
- LED window candle is another option to decorate windows for
Christmas. Place battery-operated LED candles on the windowsill
that opens to the front door.
- Christmas window stickers are cheaper options to decorate the
windows. Stickers with images of Christmas trees, candy canes,
stockings, wreath, snowflakes, and "Happy Christmas"
window stickers are available in the market.
